I am going to start working abroad and need help with relocation

Moving abroad has long been a dream for me. For me, it will be a bit of an adventure and it will be exciting to try living in another country and experience their culture.

One thing I have realized is that there is a lot to think about when moving abroad. All countries have their own rules and laws and what applies in Denmark does not always apply in other countries, regardless of whether they are a member of the European Union or not.

For example, just look at something like getting a place to live. I'm moving to Portugal and I have no idea how the housing market works there.

Will I need to pay a down payment and if so, how big should it be? Is there a type of municipal housing queue you should be registered in or is it private companies that rents out apartments there?

How do you get a bank account and a credit card? I have no idea how it works but it is something that must work otherwise it will be impossible to buy food, pay the bills and buy other things.

Another thing I have been thinking about is which authorities I have to contact and what kind of documentation I should send in? I'm guessing that the government in Portugal probably wants to know a few things about the people that move to their country.

There are many things that need to be solved when moving abroad so my employer has contacted a company that works with relocation. They offer assistance and help when moving abroad which feels good as I will not have to put all of my energy into trying to keep track of all the things that have to be resolved when I move.

It will be enough to process all the new impressions and information I will get once I have moved to Portugal and will live and work in a new country and a new culture.
